Author's Note: In my lit. group, we are reading the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. The main character, in the book has just died and is in the after life. I decided to write a free verse poem on why we should enjoy life.
Cherishing the time that's spent,
with everyone around you,
enjoying life,
while you are still fortunate,
to have it,
So live it up,
treat everyday as if it were your last,
Because, you never know,
One day,
It will be.
I like the layout of your response. I also like how it was a short response but it told a lot. Great Job!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great free verse poem because it is short, sweet, and to the point. The purpose was very clear to me. And even though it's a book response, the only thing I think you should add is choosing a writing trait to focus on. Otherwise, good job!

ReplyDeleteThat was a really cool poem. I liked how it was open, and you were able to say everything you wanted to. i liked the way you concluded the poem, because one day it will be! I liked how this poem sort of related to a lot of quotes we have heard... Also, nice author's note, but maybe next time include something you were trying to improve... nice job! :)
ReplyDeleteI believe that this response really gets the reader hooked. I also like the way you organized it so that "it may be your last" really has a dramatic ending to it. This response it truly short and sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet. I loved it! It really made me think of life and how important it is to cherish it. My favorite part was the last half of the poem. Your poem was so dramatic and meaningful...I just loved it!
